If Dermshield was used: Leave on for 3 days 2 nights prior to getting tattooed hours.

The bandage will most likely begin to fill with fluid. This is normal. Do not remove unless you are experiencing extreme discomfort in the area.

after one day: the bandage will fill with fluid.

The bandage WILL fill with fluid.

After removing the bandage, clean your tattoo with warm water and a non-scented antibacterial gel soap, such as Dial Gold. Do not use rags, loofahs, or anything other than your fingertips to clean the tattoo.

Pat the area dry with a paper towel. Do not use bath towels or washcloths, as they may contain bacteria or fabric that could affect your tattoo.

Once the area is completely dry, if you have it, apply a new piece of Saniderm and leave it on for 2-3 days. Otherwise, apply a non-scented, water-based lotion. Do not use essential oils, triple antibiotic cream (Neosporin), A&D ointment, or oil based lotions.

Repeat this 2-3 times a day, no more and no less. Over-caring for your tattoo as well as neglecting it will greatly affect how it looks when it heals.

DO NOT go swimming, tanning, or expose the new tattoo to excessive sunlight for at least two weeks.Try to wear loose fitting clothes that do not restrict or wear on the tattoo.

Refrain from strenuous activities, such as working out, manual labor, or anything that will cause you to break a sweat for 4-7 days after getting the tattoo.
